This study aims to explore individual experiences of workplace trauma and understand the behaviors within organizations that contribute to corporate trauma or corporate PTSD.
The research will include both secondary data analysis and data collection from lived experiences of workplace trauma. The outcome will be the development of an informational model to be used in a book, case studies, or workshops.
The process includes a brief (30-minute) initial conversation to outline the study process and expectations. If the participant agrees, a subsequent interview will be scheduled. Participants will receive an Informed Consent to sign and submit before the interview, as well as a sample questionnaire to guide the interview flow (this list is not exhaustive).
The interview will last between 1-1.5 hours, with the potential for brief follow-up correspondence. The discussion will cover personal experiences, observations, and thoughts regarding workplace stress, trauma, and change, as well as proposed recommendations for the future from the participant.
With permission, interviews will be audio-recorded and transcribed for accuracy during analysis. Transcriptions will have all identifying information removed and will be made available to participants via GDrive. The information will be kept until analysis and synthesis are complete, at which point it will be deleted from GDrive. Participants will be notified when this occurs. Participants will also be sent a document to review should theirs be the story that is selected to represent a particular example of traits, characteristics or implications related to Corporate Trauma.
Participation in this study is completely voluntary. Discussing past workplace trauma can be emotionally distressing. Participants can pause or discontinue participation at any time, including requesting to limit or not use any information shared during the interview. Individuals experiencing ongoing anxiety, trauma, or PTSD symptoms are strongly encouraged to seek professional mental health support before proceeding.
Aniela Larson is not certified to offer therapy or counseling advice. The conversation, content, and discussions during the interview should not be construed as a substitute for professional mental health care. Participants experiencing personal trauma responses or mental health challenges attributed to a workplace setting are strongly recommended to seek support from a licensed therapist or mental health professional prior to engaging.
